ALSA Conference Introduction
The Asian Law Students’ Association Sri Lanka will be hosting the ALSA Conference (AC) from 3rd to 8th January 2015. The AC is Asia’s largest conference for law students, and is one of the highlights of the annual ALSA calendar. AC 2015 will see more than 200 law students from fourteen (14) member countries.
AC 2015 will provide greater exposure for local law students to foreign cultures and legal traditions. Through actively engaging ALSA members from across the continent, local law students will forge an international network of like-minded peers and develop a more global perspective. As legal practice becomes increasingly globalised, the skills and knowledge that law students gain from their ALSA experiences are immensely valuable for the development of their legal careers.
Furthermore, the ALSA network allows law students to develop a keen appreciation of cultural intricacies that will inevitably enrich their understanding of local and international issues. Events such as AC 2015 are catalysts for such learning experiences, for both organisers and participants alike.
From the perspective of foreign law students, AC 2015 will provide an unparalleled insight into the diverse and rapidly changing legal arena of Sri Lanka.
